A Limited Palette

A limited palette is a selection of a small number of colors that an artist uses in their artwork. By limiting the number of colors used, an artist can focus on the relationships between the colors and create harmonious compositions. A limited palette can also help an artist to understand how different colors mix and interact, as well as encourage creative problem-solving.

In this case, the suggested limited palette includes Cadmium Red Deep Hue, Cadmium Red, Aliziran Crimson, French Ultramarine Blue, Cerulean Blue, Cadmium Yellow Pale Hue, Lemon Yellow, White, Burnt Umbre, and Yellow Ochre.

These student-quality colors are recommended and are from the Winsor & Newton brand for Oil Painting, Acrylic and Watercolours.

Having a range of brush sizes can be important for artists because different brush sizes can be used for different techniques and effects in a painting.
For example, a larger brush might be used to apply broad strokes of color, while a smaller brush might be used for more detailed work or for applying thin, precise lines.

Having a selection of brush sizes can allow an artist to choose the most appropriate brush for the task at hand, which can lead to more control and better results in their artwork.

Additionally, having a range of brush sizes can allow an artist to work more efficiently and save time by having the right tool for the job.
