About Lavinia O’Leary

Lavinia is a Dublin born artist, who has been painting and taking commissions for the last 20 years. Working mainly in oils, she also specialises in pen and watercolour drawings and illustrations. While one of Lavinia’s key artistic influences is renowned American artist, Georgia O’Keeffe, her father, Gerry McAleavey, is the person from whom Lavinia credits her inspiration and artistic talents.Lavinia is a student with Dublin Art Classes and has taken part in many en plein air courses and art holidays with her school. This has greatly influenced her knowledge and love of art and of art history.

Lavinia is an experienced and versatile artist, specialising in Dublin scenes, en plein air landscapes and studies of wildflowers and birds. She loves to give depth in her floral paintings to give the viewer the feeling of wanting to reach out and touch the flowers.
